Fuck. Where do I even start? I guess this year hasn't been living up to what I thought it would have been, which isn't necessarily a bad thing when you value things like discipline and the saying that goes "hard times create harder people". I'll stop my incessant rambling here and actually explain what's been going on. Sometime in June, my house was broken into while nobody was home (thankfully). Lotta shit was stolen, including my one and only computer + a hard drive containing the days worth of music I was making since 2019 including the new album. It broke me for a few days. Things are fine now and all of the material that was being made for the new album was safely backed up onto my iPhone. There you go. A post explaining to the one person who reads this (me) why I've been gone for so long. Blah blah, album production will continue shortly, beep.

It's been a while since I last put anything up here but I'm back to announce that a new album is in the works and has an aimed release for June-July. I'm not sure whether or not I'm gonna keep working on MALLARD M, chances are it'll just become more archival shit for the hands of the forecoming future to deal with. A small batch of CDs will be handmade and released too.

Been fucking with the now finished mask and a homemade payphone speaker/dynamic mic(?) I fit into it for about a week now. I was given an old landline telephone by my nan in which I decompiled to tear the speaker out. After snipping cords, soldering wires and taping it all together I was met with a fully functional telephone microphone. I sewed a pocket into the mask by the mouth bit to fit said microphone into for ultimate convenience. I think all I need to do next is get some sick effect pedals, seems like I'm gonna have to work a few more minimum wage shifts.

Went through my wardrobe and found a couple of old shirts in which I'm currently turning into a mask, for technical reasons. I initially used a hand-made COVID-era mask that I cut a hole through to fit an old microphone into but the mic kept falling out of the hole. Long story short, I lost my shit and tore the mask apart in a fit of fury but who even cares because I'm making a new one!!1

The new album, MALLARD M: BLINDING GRID is in the works and has a planned release for late 2023(?). I've been changing my drum setup a lot within the past 2 days or so. I mean that as in switching drum and cymbal places. Album production is going pretty slowly at the moment (as I've only just begun) but it also isn't hard to be loud and bash drums with wood.
